Thursday was another great day in the kingdom of Grace Bible Day Camp!

Our memory verse today was Ephesians 6:14b-15, "Having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, the readiness given by the gospel of peace."

On the fourth day of Keepers of the Kingdom, we learned about our next two pieces of the armor of God. The breastplate of righteousness and shoes of peace are what God gives us at salvation. When we decide to join the good Kingdom by believing in Jesus as our Savior King, God makes us righteous and God declares peace with us (Rom. 5:1,10). Once we are in God’s kingdom, we put on righteousness and peace by doing the right things peacefully. The Christian isn’t called to be a physical fighter of people, even though we are given spiritual armor. The Christian is called to wage war against the spiritual kingdom of Satan by sharing the Gospel and love of Jesus. That is true warfare!

In morning games, we tried to knock over the opposite team's castle with dodgeballs. We made our very own "belt of truth" craft too. The afternoon game made us work on our team cooperation. The troops are really learning the ropes and making friends in their groups!

Remember, camp will go longer tomorrow. We will finish with a closing assembly in the great hall (the church auditorium) at 4:30, and parents are invited! Kids will show their parents all the verses and songs they learned this week, and we will find out who won the battle between the Navy Knights & the Red Raiders! Then, the nobles of the kingdom would like to invite all campers and their families to a feast on the grounds! The picnic will start at 5 p.m. Hope you can join us!
